Can chicken wire be used for puppies as temporary fencing?

I am planning on getting a puppy from our local shelter.

We will get an underground electric fence in our backyard once the puppy is old enough to train. Will chicken wire be okay to use with a puppy as temporary fencing?

(Note that the puppy will be supervised and getting a regular fence seems kinda unnecessary and expensive since we live on a farm...)|||I wouldn't trust it as the chicken wire I've seen seems to be very sharp. They do sell inexpensive plastic fencing for chickens, if you get a small breed that may work, otherwise, I'd recommend an outdoor playpen or kennel.|||if its a puppy, it should be fine. depending on dogs, it might work.

i know with our dogs: choc lab and poodle mix, it would be fine for as neither one jumps or pushes. they know where they need to be|||chicken wire tends to be a bit sharp. if the puppy starts chewing on it, he/she might get hurt. i would suggest just getting a long leash and tying it to something if you dont want to spend much|||I don't know why not!
