How much would it cost to create a fencing team?

We are founding a fencing squadron at our school for the 2011-2012 school year. Does anyone have any idea of how much this might cost? We anticipate 5-7 members, perhaps more if necessary.|||There are a couple finances to focus on in school sports:





1. Equipment. I am assuming that each individual of the team will rent the purchased equipment, or provide their own. So in that case, equipment isn't a cost. But if that's not the case, equipment is fairly expensive considering that fencing uses full-body padding and weapons. This could be up to $1000 for a team of 5-7.





2. Transportation. I'm not sure how you're going to do this, 5-7 is an awkward number. If you have 15-20, you would have to rent a bus, you still might. Busing is fairly expensive as well, but in my school, the school covered transportation.





3. Insurance. Check if your school covers the insurance (it does about 95% of the time). This one is self-explanatory, if anyone gets hurt and has medical bills that could lead to a lawsuit without insurance.
